IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT BATTERY DEPOSITS

Used batteries must not be disposed of with household waste.
As an end user, you are legally obliged to return used batteries.
Batteries can be returned free of charge to retailers after use.

In accordance with §10 BattG, we are obliged to charge a deposit of €7.50 including VAT per vehicle battery in connection with the sale of vehicle batteries to end users if the end user does not return an old vehicle battery at the time of purchasing a new vehicle battery. The price consists of the item price and a statutory deposit of €7.50. After collecting the deposit, we are obliged to refund it if you return an old vehicle battery to us at:

Furthermore, we are obliged to refund the deposit if you have handed in an old vehicle battery to a distributor of vehicle batteries, a public waste disposal company or an operator of a treatment facility for end-of-life vehicles in accordance with the End-of-Life Vehicles Ordinance and you provide or send us written or electronic proof of disposal. The certificate must not be older than two weeks at the time of submission.

As a distributor of batteries, we are also obliged to take back used batteries, whereby our take-back obligation is limited to used batteries of the type that we carry or have carried in our range as new batteries. You can therefore either return used batteries of the aforementioned type to us, sufficiently stamped and properly packaged in accordance with the regulations for dangerous goods, or hand them in free of charge directly at our company headquarters at the following address:

As a commercial, other economic enterprise or public institution, you also have the option of disposing of the used battery directly with the manufacturer or commercial used battery disposal companies; you will also receive the deposit back from us upon presentation or transmission of a written or electronic proof of disposal from these entities. This proof must also not be older than two weeks at the time of presentation.

The symbols shown on batteries have the following meanings:

Batteries and rechargeable batteries must not be disposed of with household waste; you are legally obliged to return used batteries and rechargeable batteries. The symbol with the crossed-out wheelie bin means that you must not dispose of batteries and rechargeable batteries with household waste.

Used batteries may contain harmful substances that can damage the environment or your health if not stored or disposed of properly. However, batteries also contain important raw materials such as iron, zinc, manganese or nickel and can be recycled.

Under this symbol, you will also find the following symbols with the following meanings:

Pb: Battery contains more than 0.004% lead by weight.
Cd: Battery contains more than 0.002% cadmium by weight.
Hg: Battery contains more than 0.0005% mercury by weight.
